For instruction, I noticed myself gravitating towards a few regular techniques. The first one being choice. In whatever activity I did I always tried to consider how I could allow the students to make some kind of choice within their learning. One example I did was during their poetry unit. I allowed the students to choose what topics they wrote about while still creating the types of poems I asked for. This made it easier for students to generate lines for their poems as they were already familiar with the topic they were writing about.
