Values and Goals

As an educator, I value learning in my students, but I also value learning myself. I am intrigued with new and innovative ideas to do things. Throughout all three of my practica, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow from each of my coaching teachers, seeing new ways to do the same tasks. For example, I worked with my coaching teachers to develop report cards (or CSLs) for the students I was working with at that time. Although it is required for teachers to provide these communications to the parents, each one of my coaching teachers created them differently. Now at the end of my third practicum, I have three very different strategies to produce a similar outcome. I am able to take these strategies into my future classroom.

As a learner myself, my ultimate goal is to return back to UNBC again. I would like to learn throughout my teaching career to be able to come back to UNBC and share that knowledge with future teachers.
